Luke Whiteside

Land Stewardship Associate (West)

Luke has served in a variety of land management roles including native plant propagator in the Bay Area, preserve steward in upstate New York, prescribed burn crew member with North Carolina State Parks, and consulting forester in Southwest Virginia.  Before joining the Triangle Land Conservancy (TLC) team, Luke was working as a trail technician for the Pisgah Conservancy in Brevard.  Outside of work you can find him painting, woodworking, or watching college football.

Luke grew up in East Tennessee, where he developed his passion for conservation by exploring the mountains around his home.  He attended Appalachian State University, studying sustainable development and agroecology.
