Gear Up March Hike @ Horton Grove Nature Preserve
Mar 13 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

As part of celebrating Women’s History month, we have a very special hike planned! Come join Samantha Briley from Gear Up LLC on a backpacking how to where women of all ages will learn the basics of going backpacking. As we trek through the trails at Horton Grove Nature Preserve, we’ll be pulling gear right out of Sam’s backpack like food, clothes, and a tent. Be prepared to learn the Leave No Trace principles, staying hydrated, and women’s hygiene while on trail. There will be plenty of time for questions along the trail to make you feel comfortable and confident for your first outing.
This will be a socially distant hike, with a max of 10 people. All participants will be required to wear a mask over mouth and nose the entire time. For this hike, please bring your mask, and a pack with water and snacks.

Star Party at Williamson Farm and Nature Preserve @ Bailey and Sarah Williamson Farm and Nature Preserve

Join us at Williamson Farm and Nature Preserve to take part in the annual NC Science Festival Star Party with TLC! Did you know that you can walk the entire solar system at our Preserve? Dart around Mars and the Moon while dodging asteroids by taking just a short scaled solar system walk on one of our trails. You can also complete hands-on activities that range from arts and crafts to having fun with moon phase oreos. We’ll end the night with guided star gazing after exploring the wonders at Williamson.

We will be outside the entire time, so dress for the weather, bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit in, and be sure to bring your excitement! We can’t wait to see you!

When registering, please only register once for each family unit, each individual does not need to be registered.
