Come join an REI Outdoor School Instructor and other couples this Valentine’s Day on a hike in one of The Triangle’s best hiking areas, TLC’s Johnston Mill Nature Preserve! The REI instructors will introduce you to this local natural gem, teach you a few tips for making hiking more comfortable, and help you hike at your own pace.
Thirty-three years ago (our Founder’s Day is February 17, 1983) TLC officially became a recognized organization, and we’ve been hard at work conserving land ever since. For that, we deserve a trophy! Come celebrate with us at Trophy Brewing & Taproom on Maywood Avenue in Raleigh on February 19, the week of our founding! Join us for a brewery tour at 5:30pm and learn from the brew masters how the entire brewing process begins with clean water. Then, experience for yourself what beer brewed with water from a TLC protected watershed tastes like with one free tasting of Trophy beers brewed on the premises. Additional drinks available for purchase, light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.
Space is limited so reserve your free spot now!

Come join TLC at the Chapel Hill library for a new family series including nature themed story time. As fall birds start appearing, this is the perfect time to learn more about our feathered friends. We’ll read a story about birds, make our own bird feeders, and try our hands at constructing nests.
Please register through the library. This program is perfect for children ages 4+ with an adult.
