Members Sneak Peek-Walnut Hill @ Walnut Hill Nature Preserve, Wake County
Feb 11 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

walnuthillJoin TLC’s Land Maintenance Technician, Kyle Obermiller to get caught up on what’s happening at Walnut Hill! Soon to be the largest greenspace destination on the 26 Mile Neuse River Greenway in Wake County, plans are underway to make the most of this community resource. Part of the property will remain an active agriculture site and model for sustainable farming practices, starting with the use of cover crops on the dormant fields. Hear from Kyle why cover cropping is important, how it was planted, and what happens next. Then tour some of the picturesque features of Walnut Hill and learn what else we have in store for these 405 acres. We are preparing to open Walnut Hill to the public in the next couple of years and we want to give our members the chance to see it at every step along the way!
