The Conservation Trust for North Carolina (CTNC) and its partners, including TLC, with grant support from the Triangle Community Foundation, are developing a regional farmland preservation and agricultural development strategy for the Triangle. The project area includes Chatham, Durham, Johnston, Orange and Wake counties.
The stakeholders meeting will bring together farmers, resource professionals and others interested farmland protection, farmland access, local food, and food security. If you are interested in promotion and development of a sustainable and economically viable local food system, please join us to provide your ideas for place-based conservation and agricultural economic development strategies.
The stakeholder meetings will provide background information on the project and include opportunities for you to provide input on:
- Why farmland preservation is important to your community.
- Voluntary conservation strategies to protect farmland.
- Agricultural economic development strategies for improving farm profitability
- Farmland preservation maps and focus areas.
We value everyone’s input, and hope you will be able to join us! Register now to attend this free event: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/triangle-farms-for-food-stakeholder-meeting-registration-21454404702
