Become a Tree Detective! @ Johnston Mill (Secondary Entrance)
Oct 15 @ 10:00 am – 11:30 am

Join our very own Trail Guides on this family friendly, Autumn walk to become a tree detective! Tap into your observations skills to learn the unique characteristics of several common piedmont trees to be able to identify on your future hikes! We will play and have fun in the forest with activities geared towards 6-10 year olds, but the whole family is welcome. We will spend about 1.5 hours and walk about 2 miles around our Johnston Mill Nature Preserve.

This is a free event, but preregistration is required. Make sure to save your spot here!

If the event is full, please fill out the form at this link to be added to the waitlist.

Current Mask Policy: TLC seeks to build a supportive, mask-friendly environment in all collaborations with staff and the public. Please wear a mask if you are not vaccinated, or if that makes you feel most comfortable. We will have masks available if you would like to wear one during an event. We also encourage those eligible to be vaccinated to get their Covid-19 vaccine and booster shot. If you are experiencing any Covid-related symptoms, please stay home and attend a program another day. Our top priority is to create a safe environment for our community. Thank you for your understanding.

Get Wild! Get Spooky! @ Brumley Preserve (Schoolhouse of Wonder Entrance)
Oct 29 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Come and join us at our Brumley Nature Preserve to Get Wild and Get Spooky! We will be learning about bats and pumpkins and all things spooktacular! Bats and their homes are extremely important to our healthy ecosystems, so learn how you can help these winged mammals. See all the gore of pumpkins and maybe even have a few sweet treats along the way. Costumes are not required but they are strongly encouraged (adults included!)

The event will be outside so bring good walking shoes, a water bottle, and potentially a chair to sit in.

This is a free event, but preregistration is required. Make sure to save your spot here!

If the event is full, please fill out the form at this link to be added to the waitlist.
