Stretch into autumn with yoga and Triangle Land Conservancy! Irvin Farm is the perfect peaceful rural setting for mindful practice surrounded by working and wild lands. Ordinarily closed to the public, Irvin Farm will be open for this yoga class on October 1st when the fall is just beginning to touch the farm!
Brook Harrington will lead classes in the Hatha Vinyasa style with all levels welcome. Brook is a certified personal trainer by the American Council on Exercise and is a 200 hour registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance. She receives great joy when guiding students/clients in executing a meaningful movement practice into their everyday existence.
Please bring your own mat and a beach towel to place under it. The class is outside but under a covered shelter so they will take place rain or shine. We look forward to doing yoga on the farm with you!
This class is free and open to the public but registration is required.
Beers From Here is a collaboration between local beverage producers and Triangle Land Conservancy to celebrate the lands behind local flavor. Each participant will lead exploratory foraging walks through nearby TLC nature preserves and produce a unique beverage inspired by and utilizing some ingredients collected during the walk.
Fullsteam is Nuts for Conservation and want you to be too! They have decided to bring back the deliciously popular Brumley Forest Baltic Porter for another year to celebrate Triangle Land Conservancy’s newest preserve, Brumley Nature Preserve. This beer is made with black walnuts and hickory nuts harvested from the property itself so we need your help to harvest the ingredients.** This event will take place on the North side of the property that is not yet open to the public so this is a great chance to explore the beautiful forest and trails on this part of the preserve.
Each producer has agreed to donate a portion of their sales from their beverage directly to TLC to support our efforts to to manage and protect wild and working lands around the Triangle. We will host a ticketed banquet in the evening on Nov 11th at TLC’s Irvin Farm preserve in Chapel Hill where you can try each of these unique brews accompanied by food from local chefs. More information on the banquet coming soon!
**Please note, foraging is only permitted on TLC properties under special circumstances and supervision of TLC staff.
