Grand Trees of Chatham

Grand Trees of Chatham will have a Winter tree ID hike at White Pines Preserve on Saturday, February 15 from 1-3 pm.  The hike will be led by Andy Upshaw and Phillip Cox and include identifying various trees as well as noting other flora and fauna.  The hike will be limited to the first 25 folks who sign up.  Since you are receiving this announcement before the general public, now is the time to sign up!

The hike will be about 2 miles in length and of moderate difficulty with some up and down terrain.  Please no children under 5 years old and no pets.

White Pines Preserve is a stunning area of Chatham County with a remnant population of White Pines.  The forest is beautiful and the hike will likely go past the confluence of the Rocky and Deep Rivers–one of the many great places for photos!

If you are interested in joining us, please let us know by e-mail to: [email protected]   Let us know how many individuals will be attending. We will reply with an e-mail confirming your registration or, if the hike is already at capacity, we will let you know that you are on the waiting list.

Registrants will be notified by e-mail if the hike is cancelled due to bad weather.
