Our friends at Gear Up are offering a special hike to our community. Feel fully equipped to take on the outdoors by learning how to use a map and compass in this program. We’ll be trekking through the Horton Grove Preserve, observing the terrain and comparing it to a map. On our journey, explore the use of a compass and using it with our newfound map reading skills. In this outing, we will be hiking quite a bit to fully immerse ourselves in the navigation. Please bring a daypack with snacks and plenty of water.
In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks should be worn by those who are unvaccinated or when anyone cannot maintain social distancing with guests other than your family/pod. TLC seeks to build a supportive, mask-friendly environment in all collaborations with staff and the public. We encourage others to be respectful of personal choice about mask wearing.
