Leigh Ann Hammerbacher
Associate Director of Stewardship & Planning
Leigh Ann started with TLC as a Conservation Planner in August 2007. As of 2012 she is the Associate Director of Stewardship and Planning, working closely with land stewardship staff and local landowners to successfully integrate on-the-ground conservation efforts with TLC’s long-term strategic vision. A Guilford County native, Leigh Ann developed an affinity for the outdoors during summers spent at camp on Kerr Lake. She graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with Highest Honors in Environmental Studies. After travelling extensively, she returned to UNC to earn her Masters in Planning from their world-class Department of City and Regional Planning. Leigh Ann is knowledgeable in a broad array of techniques and competencies useful for taking a holistic approach in looking at landscapes. She uses GIS, modeling and her familiarity with local land use policy to create collaborative conservation plans that promote vibrant urban and natural areas and contribute to the high quality of life in our area.
