Bring the whole family for some fun down on the farm!
As our 25th Anniversary Outings series comes to a close, be sure to grab the kids and join us at the Irvin Farm for some good ol’ farmyard fun. Festivities include a guided hike, crafts, a scavenger hunt, hayrides, and information about forestry and restoration of the farm.
While many of the activities are offered throughout the day, please note specific times for the classroom presentation, hayrides, and guided hike.

Directions
From Chapel Hill: Go west on NC 54 Bypass and take the Jones Ferry Road exit. Turn left onto Jones Ferry Road and follow 3.6 miles. Follow the signs indicating the gravel driveway on the left, then follow the signs indicating the parking area in the field on the left.
From Hillsborough: Follow Old 86 south toward Carrboro. At the Hillsborough Rd/Old Fayetteville Rd split, stay right on Old Fayetteville Rd, cross NC 54 and proceed to Jones Ferry Rd. Turn right on Jones Ferry Rd and follow 3.3 miles. Follow the signs indicating the gravel driveway on the left, then follow the signs indicating the parking area in the field on the left.From Durham: Take US 15-501 south to Chapel Hill. US 15-501 South becomes NC 54 Bypass West. Take the Jones Ferry Road exit, then turn left onto Jones Ferry Road and follow 3.6 miles. Follow the signs indicating the gravel driveway on the left, then follow the signs indicating the parking area in the field on the left.
From Raleigh/Johnston Co: Take I-40 west to exit 273A (NC 54 West). The exit ramp feeds you onto NC 54 West. Follow 2.8 miles then take the exit ramp to stay on NC 54 West and join with US 15-501 South toward Carrboro and Pittsboro. Follow NC 54 West 3.9 miles then take the Jones Ferry Road exit. Turn left onto Jones Ferry Road and follow 3.6 miles. Follow the signs indicating the gravel driveway on the left, then follow the signs indicating the parking area in the field on the left.
From Chatham/Lee: Take US 15-501 north toward Chapel Hill. About 1.5 miles after crossing the Haw River, turn left on Hamlet Chapel Rd and follow 9.7 miles (after about 5 miles Hamlet Chapel Rd becomes Jones Ferry Rd). Follow the signs indicating the gravel driveway on the right, then follow the signs indicating the parking area in the field on the left.
