Fun with TLC! Open Gallery and Grapevine Tree Workshop

By Emily Weinstein

Back in November I hosted an open studio to benefit TLC. I signed copies of my art gift book, Saving Magic Places, served hot apple cider, cookies...etc. and discussed exciting networking possibilities with Members of Triangle Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic and Friends of Bolin Creek. Thirty-five percent of all sales went to Triangle Land Conservancy at this event. Normally through my gallery, I donate 25 percent when TLC is mentioned. So mark your calendar and join us next year, in 2010 on November 21st. This event is always great networking and the first-time viewing of many new pieces of my art work.

A couple weeks later I went to the Build Your own Christmas Tree workshop. What a blast! If you were not there, request TLC
holds it again and make sure you attend! In less than two hours, I was taught by the very skillful husband-wife team of Jim and Maureen Ahmad all the tricks to weaving a rustic sculptural tree from vines. I am adding to it from my own backyard. It is extremely rewarding to create a unique usable creation.

I can highly recommend this workshop...and also my open studio. I hope to see you soon at a TLC function!
