6. Our Water, Our Land campaign tops $4 million
In times like these, there aren't many chances to double your money, but that's the very opportunity two anonymous TLC donors offered through the River Society Challenge. The deal was this: Beginning in May 2008, the anonymous donors would match - dollar for dollar - new gifts to the Our Water, Our Land campaign made by River Society members through the end of the year. Folks really responded! TLC's River Society members pledged a total of $184,100 for the campaign during the months of the challenge, $184,100 + $184,100 = $368,200! This challenge pushed the campaign past the $4 million mark, on our way to $5.5 million by March 2010. Find out more about Our Water, Our Land online.

10. Where in the Triangle?
The TLC “Where in the Triangle?” quiz is back to challenge your knowledge of the villages, backroads and crossroads communities throughout our region, from Bennett to Bentonville to Bahama. So, eager contestants, here is the next puzzle. Take a look at this picture, then send an e-mail telling us where you think the photo was taken. (Here’s a hint: the photo was taken in the region of this month’s Backyard Adventure, Rocky River Romance). One lucky reader will receive a stylish TLC baseball cap. We will draw a winner from all the correct answers we receive at enews@triangleland.org by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10.
Thanks to all of you who responded to last month’s “Where in the Triangle?” quiz! The correct answer was the Confederate soldier statue in front of the Chatham County Courthouse in Pittsboro.
As always, thanks for reading E-News!
