Visit Swift Creek Bluffs
| Directions |
From North Raleigh and points north: Take
440 Outer Beltline to Exit 1C for Jones Franklin Road. Go south (left) on Jones
Franklin Road for about 2 miles to a 'T' intersection. Turn left to stay on Jones
Franklin Road and follow about 0.1 mile to a traffic signal at Tryon Road. Continue
straight across to stay on Jones Franklin Road and follow about 0.2 mile to a 'T'
intersection. Turn left on Holly Springs Road and follow about 2.2 miles to the
Swift Creek bridge. Swift Creek Bluffs is located just beyond Swift Creek bridge on
the right side adjacent to a Town of Cary lift station. Park in the gravel lot.
From Orange, Durham counties and points west: Take Exit 293A for US 1
South / US 64 West toward Sanford. This is a multi-exit ramp that extends more than
a half-mile. Take the second exit off this extended ramp for Exit 101A - Walnut
Street - Shopping Centers. Turn right on Walnut Street and pass through the Crossroads
area shopping district. After 1.2 miles Walnut Street intersects with Tryon Road at a
traffic signal. Go straight through and Walnut Street becomes Holly Springs Road.
Continue 2.3 miles to the Swift Creek bridge. Swift Creek Bluffs is located just beyond
Swift Creek bridge on the right, adjacent to a Town of Cary lift station. Park in the
gravel lot.
From Chatham, Lee counties and points southwest: Take US 1 North or US
64 East to US 1 North. On US 1, take the exit for the Cary Parkway (first exit after
US 64 and US 1 merge). Turn right and follow Cary Parkway east about 1.6 miles, to
'T' intersection with Holly Springs Road. Turn right (south) on Holly Springs Road
and follow about 1.6 miles to the Swift Creek bridge. Swift Creek Bluffs is located
just beyond Swift Creek bridge on the right, adjacent to a Town of Cary lift station.
Park in the gravel lot.
From Johnston County and points southeast: Take I-40 West or US 70
West to I-40 West. Stay on I-40 West (inner beltline) at the beltline. Take exit 295
for Gorman Street and turn left (south) on Gorman Street. Turn right onto Tryon Road
and continue for 2.1 miles. Turn left onto Holly Springs Road and proceed for about
2.3 miles to the Swift Creek bridge. Swift Creek Bluffs is located just beyond the
bridge on the right side, adjacent to a Town of Cary lift station. Park in the
gravel lot.

During the spring and summer, you
should be wary of poison ivy. Be aware that ticks, chiggers and other
insects may be active during the warmer months. Please take precautions
against biting insects (i.e. use insect repellent, wear long pants and
long-sleeved shirts and tuck your pant legs in
your socks). |
