Visit Flower Hill Nature Preserve

Flower Hill is designated as a TLC Open Land property, meaning that it is open to the public but not intensively managed for public recreation. It is located in northeastern Johnston County, just off NC 231 near the Nash and Wilson county lines.  Flower Hill does have an information kiosk and a small trail system. Note that the trail continues off the TLC property (well marked). Visitors should heed all posted signs.

Directions Follow US 64 East to US 264 East. Continue for about 2 miles and exit on NC 39. Go south (right) on NC 39 for 6 miles to NC 231. Turn east (left) on NC 231 and proceed to intersection of NC 231 and Flower Hill Road (about 3 miles). Turn right onto Flower Hill Road. The entrance and parking area will be on the left.

Hazards During the spring and summer, you should be wary of poison ivy. Be aware that ticks, chiggers and other insects may be active during the warmer months. Please take precautions against biting insects (i.e. use insect repellent, wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts and tuck your pant legs in
your socks).
