Now there are more ways than ever to make a donation to TLC, thanks to the
generosity and creativity of several businesses. Read more below to find
out how shopping, banking and web-surfing can help support TLC's conservation
work.
Anders Natural Soap Co. -
The
nice folks at Anders Natural Soap Co. are donating 10% of the sales of their organic tote
bag to
TLC. The
tote bag is made of rugged
100% organic cotton canvas and will give you many years of use. Use and re-use
this machine washable bag as an eco-friendly replacement of paper and plastic
bags. You can buy the tote online
at or shop for Anders products at the State
Farmers Market (the indoor section). For more information about the
Farmers Market, visit
www.ncagr.com/markets/facilities/markets/raleigh/.
Artist
Emily Weinstein has turned conservation and community-action into art. In
Saving Magic Places, Emily chronicles the three-year effort to stop a
development and create a public park on New Hope Creek. The book features 100
color plates of Weinstein's paintings of the area and key people in the fight,
including TLC's Kevin Brice. Saving Magic Places makes a beautiful gift, and by
purchasing the book you can help us save more magical places. Emily is donating
$10 to TLC for every book sold to someone who mentions they heard about it from
us. Purchase the book online from Emily's
website (if you do,
please send Emily an email with the subject line "TLC-40%" so she knows you
heard about it from us). Or call Emily at 919-402-0160 and write "TLC-40%" in
the memo line when you send your check. The book costs $29.80 including tax and
shipping.
Through Earth Share of North Carolina, TLC is an option in Triangle United Way giving campaigns.
If your company participates in a Triangle United Way campaign, please look for TLC among the list of organizations to which you can designate your contribution
and consider supporting us through workplace giving.
Food Lion Shop & Share
Program
- Every time a TLC-registered MVP customer shops at Food Lion, a portion of
the total purchase goes to TLC. If you have an MVP card, you can
register it online at
www.foodlion.com
or by calling 704-633-8250 x 3810. To register online, go to the Food
Lion website, click on Lion Shop and Share on the left side of the home page
and then click Register MVP cards. Follow the prompts to select TLC and make
sure you select Raleigh as the town (where TLC is based).
You will be asked to enter your 12-digit MVP card number and your name and phone number.
iGive.com is an
online shopping portal where you can specify that a portion of your online
purchases be donated to TLC. Visit
www.iGive.com, type "Triangle Land Conservancy" into the keyword search
box, and register. You can shop at more than 680 online stores through
iGive.
Goodsearch.com is a
search engine that donates half its revenue, about a penny per search, to
the charities its users designate. You use it just like any search
engine and it's powered by Yahoo! Go to
www.goodsearch.com and enter Triangle Land Conservancy as the charity
you want to support. If 500 people search four times a day, they could
raise about $7,300 in a year without spending a dime. Be sure to
spread the word.
While you're at
Goodsearch.com, click on the
Goodsearch.com/goodshopping link that will take you to another page where
you can make a contribution to TLC when you shop online. In the box
beneath the question "Who do you goodshop for?" type Triangle Land Conservancy.
Then you will see links to the many retailers that contribute a percentage
of each sale to your designated charity. Retailers include many of the
biggest names in online shopping and each store lists the percentage they donate
with each purchase. Note that you must enter the retailer's online site
through the links on the Goodsearch.com/goodshopping site for the donation to be
made.
