River Society Members Do the Math:
$184,100 x 2 = $368,200

In times like these, there aren’t many chances to double your money, but that’s the very opportunity two anonymous TLC donors offered through the River Society Challenge.

The deal was this: Beginning in May, the anonymous donors would match—dollar for dollar—new gifts to the OUR WATER, OUR LAND Campaign made by River Society members through the end of 2008. Campaign gifts of $1,000 would mean $2,000 for TLC; gifts of $10,000 would become $20,000; and gifts of $25,000 would turn into $50,000 for land acquisition and stewardship.

Folks really responded! TLC’s River Society members pledged a total of $184,100 for the campaign during the months of the challenge. Doubled, 368,200 new dollars were secured for the campaign!

TLC's River Society members are those families, corporations, and foundations that give $1,000 or more annually to TLC's general operations and who collectively provide nearly 50 percent of the organization's operating revenue.

The generous River Society members who participated in the challenge are helping TLC keep the doors open with their River Society gifts and stretching to financially support the campaign’s goals. We’re so grateful to all those who took part!
