Whether Stony creek trail is a new or an old favorite\, come and s ee it and Brumley Nature Preserve with new eyes this Earth Day. Before you leave the house\, download the Seek by iNaturalist App for your smartphon es. We will see how many living things we can share with each other on a w alk along the gorgeous banks of Stony creek. This hike is geared toward fa milies and the young at heart. Be prepared to hike as much as 2 miles or l ess as we adventure to discover interesting life forms instead of counted steps.

Come join us for our first official hike on our brand new trail system at Brumley East!
\nThese trails do not open to the public until Earth Day\, April 22 nd! This hike will be in conjunction with our Operation Earth Day event an d will start at the new eastern parking lot\, where we will then hike the new trail system to the southern pond where the event will be held. We wil l then participate in the event for an hour or so and then hike back to th e parking area. We will also have printed maps if you would like to stay a t Operation Earth Day longer.
\nThe entire hike out and back will be about 3.5 miles. At the event we will have food vendors and drinks as wel l as some tours around the pond if you would rather not participate in the activities. Please wear good walking shoes and bring water\, sunscreen\, and bug spray.

Come explore the cosmos with us at TLC’s Three Bea rs Nature Preserve in Creedmoor!
\nThis year we are combining our Operation Earth Day Carnival with the NC Science Festival’s Statewide Star Party! Learn all about the Sun a nd the Moon from community organizations and explore the night sky with fu n astronomy activities. Start your journey from the parking lot by walking through a scaled version of our very own solar system and then take a pit stop at each of our activity tables to learn all about the stars\, the mo on\, and some of the telescopes that we will be using to view the night sk y.
\nWhen the sun has set\, we will take an optional night hike or s tory time and end the night with guided demonstrations from Raleigh Astronomy Club to share constellation st ories and opportunities to look through real telescopes! This is a free ev ent but pre-registration is required.

Event Loc ation Information:
\nThis site is equipped with restrooms wit h accessible stalls. The main parking area is about a 0.15 mile walk from the main event area\, however\, there will be closer parking available for those who need it. This is a completely outdoor event and we suggest you bring chairs and blankets\, extra layers to keep warm\, and a few snacks a nd a water bottle. We can’t wait to see you among the stars at our Three B ears Nature Preserve!
