Stilt grass growt hs thick and tall\, covering everything near it\, including other grasses\ , baby trees (saplings)\, and native ground cover. It’s easy to feel like there is just too much of it\, and give up\, but we are not going to let t hat happen! Especially because it’s so easy to pull up!
\nInstead\, a great\, big group of volunteers (families with kids welcome!) will gathe r on September 9th to pull up as much stilt grass around Walnut Grove Loop as we can. Over the last two years\, volunteers have cleared away hundred s of invasive privet\, multiflora and olive plants\, making room for nativ es – and stilt grass. Now we need to take the next step and protect those native species.
\nThis is a volunteer event and preregistration is r equired. If you have not made an account on our Volunteer Hub website\, yo u will be asked to do so before you can register.
