Join TLC to c elebrate National Trails Day with your little ones on our newest trail system. We will have to put on our detectives hats with a ma gnify glass to see what kind of evidence of wildlife we can find on our hi ke. On this 2-3 mile hike we will take several stops to identify common pl ants\, see if we can find any wildlife tracks\, and maybe even find some e vidence of beavers! This is a longer hike for young kids\, so this will be best for ages 7-12. Younger and older siblings are of course welcome\, bu t guardians may need to plan for tired legs.

\nTLC and Eno River Association are Blu estem’s conservation partners helping to protect it with an upcoming conse rvation easement. As a nature preserve\, Bluestem is restoring 30 acres of former farm fields into prairie grasslands. It is open to all\, with a gr owing trail network built by volunteers. We’ll be hiking Bluestem’s 2 mile s of trails\, through lovely fields\, forests\, streams\, and by a pond. T hese trails are accessible to the public 365 days a year.
\nBluestem is also a conservation cemetery with 50 acres set aside for natural buria l. “Natural burial at Bluestem is simple\, natural and personal. It occurs without embalming\, without metal or steel caskets\, and without concrete vaults.”
\n\n\n
\n
Come explore this lovely la nd with us. The trails are flat\, though some may be muddy after a rain. K ids are welcome and while Bluestem does love dogs\, this is an event only for their owners.
