Do you want to be a sc ientist? Do you think bugs are cool? Come visit our Johnston Mill Nature P reserve and participate in the citizen science project Caterpillars Count! No prior knowledge is necessary and all ages are welcome.
\n< p>We will meet at the Turkey Farm entrance to Johnston Mill and hike to th e plot sites of tagged trees. There we will be joined by members of the Hu rlbert Lab at UNC who will take us through every step of the project inclu ding being shown the methods of capturing accurate counts of arthropods on the branches of tagged trees. You do not need to bring anything\, other t han good walking shoes and a full water bottle.
