Stilt grass growths thick and tall\, covering everything near it \, including other grasses\, baby trees (saplings)\, and native ground cov er. It’s easy to feel like there is just too much of it\, and give up\, bu t we are not going to let that happen! Especially because it’s so easy to pull up!
\nInstead\, a great\, big group of volunteers (families wit h kids welcome!) will gather on September 9th to pull up as much stilt gra ss around Walnut Grove Loop as we can. Over the last two years\, volunteer s have cleared away hundreds of invasive privet\, multiflora and olive pla nts\, making room for natives – and stilt grass. Now we need to take the n ext step and protect those native species.
